Scalextric Start Lap Counter Extension

   Ref: C8528

 £15.95 A lapcounter and balancing straight, an ideal accompaniment to the Start range of sets. Counts races of up to 49 laps and extends any Scalextric Start circuit by over one metre (cars not included). The diagram shown here details how you could use the straights in this pack to extend a layout, and it can be added to any of the Start sets (C1271 already has a lapcounter in it though).

Cars not included. To incorporate into a standard Sport track layout, use C8525 converters at either end of both the lap counter and the matching straight. Alternatively the lap counter for analogue Sport track (not digital) is C8215.

Please note that from initial set up, one or other of the dial mechanisms may be stiff and not respond to cars passing, but a drop of WD40 and/or general operation of the mechanism will help loosen things up. Also place the counter directly after a corner where cars are going slower to make sure the cars are not "flying high" in the slot at speed. If a particular car is not registering, a spot of blu-tack or similar inside the car above the guide can give a bit of extra weight to keep the car in the slot and solve the problem.
