Digital track piecesDigital track pieces
Below are the special Scalextric track pieces you can use on digital circuits - these are the ones that sort out your overtaking, pit lanes and so on. For the rest of the track, ordinary straights, curves, etc., hop over to the Sport Track section. Unlike some other brands, Scalextric Digital track pieces are completely compatible with the rest of the same brand of track - it is not a separate track system.

Product availability
An explanation of product availability status:
IN STOCK - in stock and/or available to be sent out within a day or so

In such cases a back-order will be placed for you wherever possible.
Radius 2 racing curve crossover (pair), 90 degreesRadius 2 racing curve crossover (pair), 90 degrees   Ref: C8203
These perform an interesting function on a digital track. Although they come in pairs, if you use them singly, it means that if you stay on the same lane and do not use any lane changers, next lap around you will be on the other lane regardless. So you have to actively use a lane-changer at least once per lap, if you want to stay on the same lane. And it therefore makes your "logical lap length" twice as long. On analogue tracks you have to use them in pairs, but on digital, because the current is shared around all the lanes, you can use them like this.

About pit lanes
We are often asked - what can you do with a pit lane on Scalextric Digital? It serves two purposes. Firstly, you can use these pieces to expand your track to three or more racing lanes wide, at any point on the circuit. It doesn't have to be just used as a pit lane. But as an actual pit lane, it can either be "passive", that is to say, you just use it for somewhere to park cars that are not racing. Or, if you want an active pit lane to use for stops during races, then you can either wait for the C7041 Pit Lane Game to be released later in 2008, or you can use it in conjunction with a 6-car powerbase or PB-Pro connected to SSD software such as PC Lapcounter or Slot GP (see our software page). These software packages will provide you with comprehensive pit stop and fuel management options to add to your SSD races. Scalextric pit stop software such as Sport World or old-style analogue RMS is not compatible with Digital.
Pit Lane entry/exit (on left)Pit Lane entry/exit (on left)   Ref: C7014
New 08 stock. Two forked track sections (points, if you like) with borders and barriers, that branch your pit lane off the main track and bring it back on again. Each is 1.5 straights long and you will need single lane half straights to make up the "third lane". This pack gives you the pits on the left hand side of the track as you pass them - like Montreal, Interlagos, Istanbul, and all American ovals.
£38.50 inc VAT + delivery*

Pit Lane entry/exit (on right)Pit Lane entry/exit (on right)   Ref: C7015
New 08 stock. Same as C7014, two forked track pieces - plus borders and barriers - Again you will need single lane half-straights to go alongside them on the main track. Pits are on the right as you come along the straight, like Monza, Silverstone, Hockenheim - in fact the majority of F1 circuits.

The reason you can't just swap a right hand around and use it as a left hand, is because the exit flipper is fixed in position. You can use either C7014 or C7015 as a means of branching your track out into three (or more) racing lanes - they don't have to be just used as pit lanes. Note, if you do this you may have to slice some curved track pieces down the middle to give you the extra lane around corners where a C7017 is not the correct radius for you. When "offsetting" track pieces like this you may also need to trim the size of the track connectors in some places.

1. Digital chip (single seater) (Ref: C7005)

Single lane half-straights (4)Single lane half-straights (4)   Ref: C7016
New 08 stock. Pack of 4, you need 3 of these to go alongside a pit lane piece, i.e. you will need two packs to go with your C7014 or C7015. You can also use them side by side in pairs anywhere on the track to make a two lane half-straight.
£7.99 inc VAT + delivery*

Single lane half straights (2 packs)Single lane half straights (2 packs)   Ref: 2!C7016x2
Because one pack of these is not enough to cover both ends of a pit lane entry/exit, buy two and save £3. This will give you 8 individual single lane half straights.
£13.00 inc VAT + delivery*

Single lane curve and border (pack of each)Single lane curve and border (pack of each)   Ref: 1!C7017-C7019
Three lanes is becoming an increasingly popular way to lay out a digital track. For this you need some standard C8206 radius 2 curves, then these single lane curves and borders go round the outside to complete the third lane and provide some run-off. 4 track pieces and 4 borders - save £3.
£13.00 inc VAT + delivery*

Grid Straights (2)Grid Straights (2)   Ref: C7018
An absolute must for your digital circuit, and unbelievably nobody has made these for years until now. This pack of two grid half straights provides four staggered grid positions. If you are racing 6 cars on your digital track you will need two packs (which will give you an unused spare row of the grid at the back). Now your digital qualifying session has real meaning, since, if you are not on the front row of the grid, then you have some work to do right from the start! You can space the grid rows out more with ordinary quarter or half straights in between each.

Which lanechanger??!!
We are often asked for our advice on choosing and siting lanechangers. Try and use both types - don't worry that the corner lanechanger only goes one way, you will find it makes no difference to the racing. Here are some ideas for a clockwise circuit.

Straight lanechangers; one at the start and/or end of your main straight is good. Forces you to either make an early choice to pull out and out-drag your opponent to the corner ahead, or leave it to the last minute to cheekily duck out from behind him. You can also place odd ones anywhere on the circuit you have a 1.5 straight section. Don't place them directly after one an other though, human reactions are not fast enough to properly take advantage of them, you will just end up with pile-ups.

Corner lanechangers; last corner of the lap, an out-to-in to give a chasing car a chance to get up the inside down to the first corner. First corner of the lap, another out-to-in to give a car a chance to cut in to the inside and block an opponent's overtaking move. Elsewhere, try and alternate lanechangers to give a chance to swap from each lane in turn - nothing more frustrating than being stuck behind someone for several corners waiting for the next lanechanger in your favour!

Please note that each corner lanechanger can only function in its intended configuration; you can't (easily) turn a left hand one into a right hand one due to the way the flippers work and how the connecting plugs fit.

These are just suggestions. As you can see from layouts and pictures elsewhere on our site, you can do even more creative things, if you expand to three lanes in places using the pitlane lanechangers!
