Scalextric Digital chips

Chips etc. Below are the Scalextric chips and DPR modules. Each chip is a small circuit board about the size of a postage stamp, with an LED sensor. The retro-fit chip packs include some black guide blades and braids to replace any blue guide blades on the car you are chipping (the blue guide blades don't work as well on digital).

If you prefer to fit the chips yourself, the process is quite straightforward and should not be seen as a daunting task. Full instructions and diagrams are included with the chips, for different types of car. See our "chipping cars" guide in the margin for a pictorial walkthrough. If you need soldering equipment, this iron from Maplin is what we use here.

Instructions Full fitting instructions in English, French, German and Spanish are provided with each chip - we have also converted one set to a PDF file (5MB) which you can download here.

Chip fitting service Alternatively, if you want to take advantage of our chip fitting service, hop over to the chip fitting service page. Please note SSD chips are not compatible with motors above 20K RPM. We have successfully chipped a Lewis Hamilton Scalextric Club McLaren F1 car with a 20K motor in it, but other racers report blown chips with motors more powerful than this.

Ninco Digital Conversion Chip   Ref: N40304 If you want to convert a Scalextric (or other brand) car to run on Ninco Digital, you require this chip, not the ones above. Currently we don't stock or fit these as we concentrate on the Scalextric system, although if there is sufficient demand we can get them in to order.
